*A Skills Check is a unit test, given after approximately every five lessons. After Phase 1, Skills Checks test previous learning to ensure retention. Students practice weak skills to mastery before advancing in the lesson sequence.

**A Phase Post Test is a cumulative test of the skills studied in that phase and previous phases. Test scores must indicate mastery of skills featured in each phase before students advance to the next phase of instruction.

*** Students are eligible for graduation at the end of the term in which they complete the first nine lessons of Phase Five.
